Social media has become part of our daily lives. Millions of people have Facebook and Twitter accounts along with a presence on various other social sites. People post just about everything they can find on these accounts, including pictures of their life and other personal activities.

Social media can be a major hindrance when you are going through a divorce. Here are some reasons why you need to keep your personal life off social media during a divorce.

Pictures need to be kept off your social media accounts at all times when going through a divorce, especially pictures that depict you with a new significant other. You also want to refrain from posting pictures of yourself with your children doing amazing things because it will look like you are shoving it in the face of your soon-to-be former spouse.

Don’t go on any social media rant about your spouse before the divorce is finalized. Publicly berating your spouse or complaining about them and the marriage will only make things worse for you during the divorce proceedings. Don’t forget that all of your social media posts can be used in the courtroom to paint you in a bad light.

Refrain from posting anything on your social media accounts related to the divorce. Don’t discuss the proceedings. Don’t talk about hearings or negotiations with your spouse. Don’t say a word about the divorce while it is still in progress.

Keeping your personal life to yourself can help you when getting a divorce in Kentucky. Posting on social media during this time can seriously damage your chances of gettingthe outcome you’re seeking.
